Darkest Hour - Version 4.0 ist raus!

  • Das Team von Darkest Hour hat heute das Update bzw. die neue Version 4.0 veröffentlicht.

    Das Update auf Version 4.0 ist wie üblich über STEAM erhältlich!

    In der Version 4.0 wurden sechs neue Maps und zwei neue Fahrzeuge ins Spiel integriert. Komplett neu sind die Maps Freyneux and LaMormenil, La Chapelle und Noville. Die Map La Monderie gab es schon als Beta-Version und die Maps Dog Green und Hurtgenwald wurden wieder neu aufgelegt!

    Die beiden neuen Fahrzeuge sind der M36 Jackson "Slugger" und der Panzer III in der Ausführung N.

    NEW ITEMS


    •Added a "Simple HUD Colours" checkbox to the game's HUD settings, which sets the team colours back to Red/Blue for colourblind players (and people who really hate green/gold)
    •C96 M712 Mauser
    •Fixed Red and Orange Smoke Grenades for use in marking locations and rally points, can be carried simultaneously with other grenades. Only one rally point can be active at a time however and the last grenade thrown/binocs marked will take precedence

    BUG FIXES


    •Fixed bug where Stolen Allied weapons showed Allied sleeves instead of German ones for certain player classes
    •Fixed Panzerschreck shell pickup being half buried in the ground
    •Fixed missing sound effects for bolting the Enfield No.4/No.4 Sniper
    •Enfield No.4 no longer shoots slightly to the right
    •Players who've had their hat/helmet shot off no longer magically get a new one when entering/exiting a vehicle
    •Fixed Luftwaffe officers and Squad Leaders not being assigned any grenades (smoke or otherwise)
    •Fixed a glitch where players were unable to resupply satchel charges or panzerfausts if they were carrying enemy grenades
    •Fixed longstanding bug where a proned and deployed BAR gunner is seen by others to be standing in mid-stride with his weapon pointed backwards
    •Fixed bug where BAR/Bren/FG42 were not correctly animating when deploying from crouch, resulting in crouch-deployed players being completely hidden behind cover, while at the same time being able to see/shoot enemies
    •Fixed Bren/FG42 not showing their bipods as being down while deployed
    •Fixed missing sounds when working the bolt of the Enfield sniper rifle
    •Fixed US Smoke Grenade missing the animation for underarm throw
    •Fixed bug where radioman was unable to change weapons while playing online
    •Fixed instances of German tank crew being unable to switch weapons on certain maps (custom maps with this problem will need to be fixed by their creator)
    •Fixed FG42 always doing an "empty" reload, regardless of whether the magazine was empty or not
    •Fixed FG42 magazine wobbling around during a half empty reload
    •Fixed FG42 using wrong animation for fire mode switching while the bipod is deployed
    •Tweaked code that sends a player prone on a leg shot, hopefully this will work more reliably now

    CHANGES


    •Bazooka and Panzerschreck no longer need to be rested in order to be fired from a standing position
    •Updated a number of Bazooka and Panzerschreck 3rd person animations
    •Slightly increased PIAT penetration capability
    •Adjusted MG barrel temperature calculations, so they now take longer to heat up
    •Weapon sway now resets for bolt action rifles after firing (as the weapon is lowered from the eye to bolt)
    •Slightly adjusted ironsight weapon position on FG42, BAR and Bren (which also reduces their apparent muzzleflash by proxy)
    •Reduced size of muzzleflash on Thompson
    •Adjusted stats for every single bullet weapon, changes for each include one or more of the following:

    ◦Lowered recoil

    ◦Increased accuracy

    ◦Corrected rates of fire

    ◦Increased base damage

    ◦Corrected initial bullet velocities (affects damage at range and bullet drop)

    ◦Corrected bullet ballistic coefficients (affects how bullet velocities change during flight)
    •Now that the radioman can change weapons, he has been given 2 grenades as part of his starting loadout
    •Numerous small weapon animation adjustments


    •Added localisation capability (German language version was released by TW in a recent prior update)
    •Reduced font size on scoreboard to allow more names to fit (this renders the MaxScoreboard mutator obsolete)
    •Player Name box in Settings pages now allows you to enter the full 32 chars allowed - Please note that while spaces are still allowed in game, you cannot connect to some servers with a space in your name, this is an engine issue
    •The above change should also prevent names longer than 20 chars from resetting on map changes (provided they have no space in them)
    •Changed player icon graphic on the overhead map


    •Central hedges on Axis side of Brecourt are no longer magically solid

    ADDITIONAL VEHICLE CHANGES


    •Fixed Stug MG34 pitch and yaw problems
    •Fixed Higgins boat ramp; players can no longer run right through the mesh, therefore ramp must be dropped for exit.
    •Decreased reload times for all tanks, except the M5 Stuart
    •Decreased reload times for all AT Guns


    NEW FEATURES:


    •Improved track damage model:

    ◦Hit areas are now better defined
    ◦Frontal and aft shots now have the possibility to take out tracks.
    •Additional component damage:

    ◦Locational hits to the turret can disable traverse, or affect gun elevation.
    ◦Locational hits to the turret can cook off shells in turret ready racks.
    ◦Locational hits to driver’s area can damage controls or “disable” tank.
    •Improved crew damage model:

    ◦Crewmen can now take fire damage (hot, hot!).
    ◦Hull gunners can now be struck by penetrating shots (damage to drivers and commanders added in the previous Betas).
    •Added rider positions to the following tanks:

    ◦Sherman M4A1 75mm
    ◦Sherman M4A1 76mm
    ◦Sherman Firefly
    ◦Panzer III series
    ◦Panzer IV series
    •New ammo icon art for Allied tanks

    CHANGES/IMPROVEMENTS:


    •Rolled back moving graticule feature for German and British tank gunsights. Targeting and ranging now done via the method used in stock RO, resulting in more precise aiming for widescreen and non-widescreen monitors alike.
    •HE shells now use a range based penetration table system similar to AP rounds.
    •Added a periscope view to Sherman 76mm commander’s position.
    •Increased the range of movement for Stug and Jagdpanther scissor scopes.
    •Increased smoke shell load out for Sherman, Stug, and Stuart.
    •Modest increase to MG ammunition load outs for most tanks.
    •Added a limited amount of APDS and HE shells to British 6-Pounder AT gun
    •Added a limited amount of APCR rounds to Panther tanks
    •Added a limited amount of HEAT rounds to Panzer IV tanks
    •Tanks will now spawn without a round pre-loaded in the barrel if the player has Manual Reloading enabled for vehicles

    BUG FIXES:


    •Non-penetrating HE/HEAT shell hits can no longer trigger tank fires.
    •Dual magnification optics now function properly.
    •Revised models and rigging on the AT guns – now with much better hit detection as a result (many thanks to tt33).
    •Captured AT guns are no longer invulnerable.
    •British APDS rounds are now randomly inaccurate.
    •Small arms fire can no longer penetrate armor and kill tank crews after a shell hit.
    •Shots to tread areas no longer register as automatic armor penetrations.
    •Significantly reduced the penetrating power of deflected shots.
    •Stug and Jagdpanther gunnery optics can now be damaged.
    •Low hits on turret sides can no longer trigger the track damage code.
    •Eliminated “floating” legacy hit zones above driver’s hatches that allowed for automatic penetration.
    •Sherman commanders can now see over the top of their open hatches.
    •Eliminated lean bug on Sherman M4A1 75mm
    •Fixed bug that allowed riders in the German halftrack to take small arms fire through the vehicle’s sides.
    •Fixed front hull armor thickness and slope values of M10 Wolverine and Achilles.
    •Cromwell driver can now take small arms fire damage when unbuttoned.

  • Wer Probleme mit der Version 4.0 hat ins Spiel zu kommen oder das Spiel überhaupt zu starten, sollte dies versuchen:

    1. STEAM beenden
    2. Die Datei Entry.rom im DarkestHour-Mapordner löschen (auf eure Festplatte)
    3. STEAM wieder starten (Die Datei Entry.rom sollte neu erstellt werden)
    4. Hoffentlich spielen
