STEAM in neuem Outfit

Die Beta aktiviert über das Einstellungsmenü (zu Finden unter 'Datei' und dort auf Einstellungen). Gleich im ersten Reiter findet ihr den Punkt 'Beta-Teilnahmen' und klickt dort auf 'Ändern...' und wählt dort dann 'UI Update' aus.

Wenn ihr die Beta-Teilnahme aktiviert habt, startet sich Steam neu und sollte sich euch nun auch im neuen Glanze präsentieren. Für den Fall das bei euch alles funktioniert - viel Spaß beim rumstöbern. Falls nicht - keine Sorge!

Es scheint im Moment noch häufiger das Problem aufzutreten, dass die Menü-Texte fehlen. Sollte das bei euch der Fall sein, öffnet euren Steam-Ordner und navigiert über den Ordner 'resources' zu dem Unterordner 'styles'. Hier findet ihr eine Datei namens 'steam.styles', die ihr mit dem Editor öffnet. Nun ändert ihr die Zeile 'basefontbold="Arial Bold"' ab in 'basefontbold="Arial"', womit das Problem der Vergangenheit angehören müsste.

WARNUNG: Wenn ihr an der Steam-Beta teilnehmt, sichert VORHER Modern Warfare 2. Das Beta-Update zerstört eure MW2 installation. Rund 7GB müssen dann neu heruntergeladen werden. Das Problem könnte unter Umständen an einer veränderten Lokalisation eures Spiels liegen, sofern ihr beispielsweise Englisch installiert hattet, aber auf Deutsch gewechselt habt. In jedem Fall empfiehlt sich jedoch vor der Teilnahme am Beta-Test die Sicherung aller Spiele!
